How Self-Paced Learning Works

Self-paced courses involve individual teaching of a student by an instructor on a one-on-one basis. You will learn by completing assignments using texts, study guides and other course materials. Communication with your instructor, as well as lesson submission, will take place by surface mail, fax, phone, email or your online classroom. Multiple course offerings are available to complete your degree.

Coursework

Coursework is completed entirely at a distance—no on-campus attendance required. A student may be admitted to the program at any time during the year. It is recommended that a student enroll in one or two courses initially.

Advantages of the Self-Paced Program:

  • 3 flexible formats to choose from
  • Learning options available for students without computer or internet access
  • Flexibility to work at your own pace on coursework
  • Complete entire degree at your own pace
  • Transfer up to 78 lower division and 12 upper division credits to UIU
