  • Tuberculosis (TB) Testing

As we are looking forward to your arrival to Upper Iowa University (UIU) very soon, we have to inform you of a new important health requirement.  As you might know, tuberculosis (TB) is a serious illness that is caused by bacteria that attacks lungs, and potentially kidney, spine, and brain.  If not treated properly, this illness can be fatal.  Thus, U.S. colleges and universities screen and test all new international students.  You may find more information here:

TB testing is mandatory for all new international students.  This will be done thru a blood draw, removal a small amount of blood through your vein (venipuncture).  This mandatory procedure will take place at the clinic on campus soon after your arrival on campus. Your insurance will be charged and you will be billed for the remainder which is less than $10.
