UIU Giving Day | Wed & Thurs, April 24 & 25
It’s the “Battle of the Generations” during this year’s UIU Giving Day! Hippy 60’s, Retro 70’s, Big Hair 80’s…we’re Talkin’ Bout My Generation! UIU’s 8th Annual Giving Day is just around the corner, and we are stoked about this year’s challenge set for April 24 & 25 – “Battle of the Generations!”
Team up with fellow Upper Iowa supporters from YOUR generation and make a huge difference with your gift. Take part in fun events during the celebration including Wear Blue Wednesday, Generation Dress-Up Thursday, and Homestretch Happy Hour. And follow the excitement on the leaderboard tracking Gen Z, Millennials, Generation X, Baby Boomers, and the Silent Generation.

We look forward to this momentous day when our newest grads are recognized for their achievements! Two outdoor ceremonies are set for 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. (central). Rain location is Dorman Gym. Livestream will be available for those who are unable to attend.

Second Chance Commencement | Saturday, May 4
The Alumni Association is proud to offer Second Chance Commencement for alumni who were unable (for any reason) to attend the Commencement ceremony the year they graduated. Respective “graduates” will be recognized alongside the Class of 2024 on Saturday, May 4, 2024, during the afternoon ceremony (1:30 p.m.)
The registration deadline of March 15 has now passed.

Team Peacock rides RAGBRAI | Wed-Sat, July 24-27
Team Peacock will celebrate its 20th year participating in the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI)—the oldest, largest, and longest bicycle touring event in the world! Since 2005, our team has raised more than one million dollars to support students and University projects.
This year, we’re excited to do things a bit differently. Make plans to be part of our “HALF THE RIDE, TWICE THE GLORY TOUR!” Team Peacock will meet up with RAGBRAI on Wednesday, July 24, and finish strong and hard with its traditional tire dip in the Mississippi River on Saturday, July 27, 2024. Space is limited, don’t delay signing up!
UIU at the Iowa State Fair | August 8-18
It’s a UIU tradition to have a booth at the Iowa State Fairgrounds! Juniors and seniors in high school may sign up for free tuition or free classes. All are welcome to purchase the latest and greatest Peacock merch. And the best part – – alumni receive a free gift just for stopping by to say “Hello!” See you at the Fair!
