Show your Peacock Pride when you drive

Are you envious of the many cars driving by sporting UIU Peacock license plates from the State of Iowa? Now, the Iowa Department of Transportation has made it even easier for your car to show your Peacock Pride, having recently announced that personalized and specialty plate applications can be ordered online.

You can order either a randomly numbered UIU license plate or, for an extra fee, have the plate personalized with your own unique combination of letters and numbers. Simply scroll down to the UIU “sample” plate design and click on it.

Fees:

• For a randomly numbered UIU plate, the initial fee is $25 with a $5 annual validation fee.
• For a personalized UIU plate, the initial fee is $50 with a $5 annual validation fee.
• If you are personalizing your Peacock plate, the online option allows you to see right away whether your selection is available.
• Online plate orders take about 21 days to fulfill.
