TO: Employees, Hong Kong students
SUBJECT: Hong Kong announcement

Good afternoon,

Our Hong Kong Center employees were recently notified by the Centre of Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health that the local government has decided to raise the response level of the “Preparedness and Response Plan for the Novel Infectious Disease of Public Health Significance” to the Emergency level due to concerns about the coronavirus.

UIU’s Hong Kong Center, including all classrooms and facilities, is closed through February 16, 2020. All Session 3 classes will be delivered online through that date. Hong Kong Center students have been notified that they can still reach center staff by email or WhatsApp message. Staff or faculty with non-academic questions should contact Alice Hung at [email protected].

Staff or faculty with questions specifically related to academics should reach out to their respective Chair or Dean.

Thank you for thinking of our colleagues and students in Hong Kong during this challenging time. As always, our focus will continue to be on the health and safety of our Peacock family. We will update UIU faculty and staff with any future developments.
